Body piercing aftercare short version.
Remove the dressing after 2 hours.
Clean the piercing using a cotton bud with a solution of salt water. Ensure that you remove any crusting from the bar or ring. This crusting is caused by a naturally occuring yellowish discharge from the wound called lymph.
Salt water solutions can be made by first boiling a kettle. Let the water cool and pour a small amount into a tumbler. Add a teaspoon of salt. Sea salt is best but in its absence any salt will do. If you require something more convenient you can purchase some saline solution from your local chemist.
Repeat this three times daily until the piercing has fully healed. The average healing time for a piercing is 3 – 6 months.
Because of the stringent procedures and purity of the metals i use in my piercings my clients do not usually have any problems. This coupled with the fact of my vast experience after 16 years of body piercing.
